I don’t know how hot it actually is, but it feels tremendous. The heat alone is destroying me.

Anyway…

The Liars are on-stage right now, proving that arty, drone-y, primal, noise-rock can be hypnotic and still thrash from time to time.

El-P got the crowd moving, after hitting the stage with a shocking amount of unabashedly aggressive energy. He brought out the classics, but was unafraid to play a couple rarities for the die-hards.

The Tallest Man on Earth is not. But he brought his fan-club with him, and they sang along to the upbeat tunes, and then tried desperately to stay awake through all the moody ballads despite the afternoon sun.

And Sharon Van Etten took her unenviable first-up booking in stride, bringing a sunny disposition even to the songs that are decidedly more dour on record.

Forgive any typos, I have sun-spots in my eyes.
