What is there to say? The Friday night line-up is pretty damn strong.
We’ve got folk-enchantress Sharon Van Etten (pictured above) and then The Tallest Man on Earth easing us into the festival with their folksy ways. Then slam, El-P is gonna take us to a whole other place.
I’ve seen El-P (pictured above) a couple of times before and he always brings a little stage-craft to his stage show, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s got something special ready for this crowd.
Liars (pictured above) are also an intense live-act, and their albums, including Sisterworld, the latest, are so diverse it’s hard to guess what kind of sounds we’ll here from them.
Around this time, on the “Balance” stage, a line-up of comedians will start pedaling their wares, including Michael Showalter of The State and Wyatt Cenac of The Daily Show.
Robyn (pictured above) is the wild card here. She’s an unruly pop-temptress, with a taste for the bizarre. No doubt she’ll put on a show.
I’ve been dying to see Broken Social Scene (pictured above) for years, and that’s a case where it’ll be interesting just to see who actually shows-up. They certainly have the potential to make the festival peak early.
And Modest Mouse will close us out, hopefully sticking to the classics.
The weather’s beautiful, if a bit hot. Should be one hell of a great day.
