First of all, Tune-Yards now seems to be a band. Second of all, these women, her back-up singers, are the most enthusiastic, entertaining people at the Festival today. (Even more hype that Danny Brown.)

P4k 2014 Day Two - Most Anticipated

Today’s line-up is pretty damn stacked. The fact is, four of my favorite acts of the last decade are playing today – St. Vincent, The Field, Cloud Nothings, and Tune-Yards, not to mention Danny Brown. Kids Love tUnE-yArDs

They stampeded from EMA’s set. In previous years it wasn’t until Saturday that the Blue Stage, a.k.a. the stage for “less-known” acts, turned into such a madhouse. But before Merrill Garbus was even finished soundchecking, the face-painted crowd was already going nuts. It looked like somebody put the Indigo Girls fanbase in a blender with a Ziggy Stardust concert. Meanwhile, Battles have a crazy keyboard set-up.
