I was trying to keep these lists to just five acts, but this is by far the strongest of the three days. As it should be, I suppose.

Cloud Nothings
OH represent! Seriously, though, this is one of my favorite new bands of the last couple of years. I have a hope that the right crowd will show up for this early set and help us start the day on the right foot.

Liturgy
What can I say? I love it loud. Metal bands on the blue stage are always one of the highlights of the weekend. I’m hoping Hunter & Co.’s live show will have half as much excitement as their albums.

Nicolas Jaar
Really, I’m just curious about what he’s gonna be and what he’s gonna be like. Space is the Only Noise is gloriously weird, but the guy’s total oeuvre (including his work with Darkside) shows a lot of range. This is the button pusher most likely to defy expectations this weekend.

Wild Flag
No explanation needed, right?

Danny Brown
Uh… have you seen this guy? Check! I shouldn’t raise my own expectations too much, but I fully expect this to be full-tilt crazy.

Godspeed You Black Emperor
The day’s great mystery? I’m told their live sets can be transcendental. I’m also told getting a single usable photo will be next to impossible.

Grimes
Her music doesn’t always charm me, but I do think she’s really talented. And interesting. And I bet the Purity Ring crowd adore her. Check this out…
