Pink Eyes ate beachballs, smashed a beer can on his head, talked about pro wrestling, and wore a ripped-up beach ball on his head. The crowd loved it. I don’t know the band that well, but they tore it up.

Very calm, but very crowded here. The day is sold-out, they’ve added a whole street of vendors and attractions, including a 3rd stage. Plants & Animals are kicking a surprising amount of ass, while the Dutchess & the Duke seem wholly uninterested. Fucked Up is next, sure to kick the day into 5th gear. Something smells funny.

Don’t worry. Tons of better pictures later. Built to Spill sound fantastic. We listened to a bunch from KILASecret and Ancient Melodies in the car on the way from Columbus, and “Strange” was one of the first couple of songs they played. Just great. I didn’t mention the Jesus Lizard. They were amazing. Violent. Insane. The crowd was even nuttier. The security guys here are pretty impressive. Hmmm… B2S are bitching about their record label. [...]

Yo La T started on the slower side, but now it’s feedback city. Of note: All the bands tonight are playing sets chosen by online voters. It’s incredibly crowded here. We’re sitting in the grass, in the very center of the park, not close to anything, and it’s still completely dense with bodies.
