Right now I’m listening to Hank IV at Ms. Bea’s. Overall, it’s pretty cool aggressive rock that mirrors the sound of the band’s recent Siltbreeze LP.
Earlier at Ms. Bea’s, I caught a set by Husker Du’s Grant Hart. It was a fairly typical guitar/vocals set that, while not revelatory, nevertheless held my interest.
Between stops at Ms. Bea’s, I made the trek eastward with Kevin to the Pelican. I enjoyed Girls’ set of what sounded to me like Northern Californian Elvis Costello pop rock, and White Denim played a particularly energetic set of psychedelic garage rock.
Next up, the first of tonight’s two Guinea Works performances.
