Needless to say, it’s really hot again.
I’ve already been pleasantly surprised by the energetic openers on both stages. Free Energy (pictured) have all the moves that faux-band in Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous, plus a sort of metro-sexual energy that’s got all the little girls here whipped-up into a frenzy.
On the smaller balance stage, Netherfriends, a Chicago band, I believe, are making all kinds of strange noises, and jumping around a lot while they do it.
I’m awake, I’m really sweaty, and I didn’t have any good coffee today, but these two bands have me ready for a fun day.
PICKS: Real Estate, Delorean, Titus Andronicus, Dam-Funk, Raekwon, and all of the last 5 acts, even and maybe especially Freddie Gibbs.
